Such a one is more valuable than precious stones…
Strongly girding her loins, she strengthens her arms for work…
She extends her arms to do profitable things …
She opens her hands to the poor
And reaches out with her fruit to the needy.

Proverbs 31: 10, 16-18

The Society of St. Macrina is our ladies’ organization. Our patron saint is the sister of three ancient church fathers including St. Basil the Great. Their pious family is an inspiration to all Orthodox and like them we strive to promote the faith while performing needed services in our parish. This group meets monthly and is devoted to service in areas of hospitality, fellowship, benevolence and church decor. We support the clergy through the care of vestments and altar cloths. St. Macrina women bake holy bread and teach other parishioners this blessed art. We sponsor coffee hour each Sunday after Divine Liturgy and organize dinners for special occasions. We take flowers and food to the sick and bereaved and decorate our temple with flowers throughout the year. This is a popular group because we stock the church food pantry and see that special foods are ready for each occasion!
